April 14th 2022:
Which Bottles are “Witch Bottles”? by Nigel Jeffries.
Nigel is an Archaeologist and Finds Specialist at the Museum of London Archaeology. He has been the lead investigator in a 3 year research project into the origins and practice of deliberately concealing stone and glass bottles in particular places, such as under floors and hearths in houses, churchyards and riverbanks. March 10th 2022:
Becket’s Shrine? by Rev David Chance.
In 1970, David became Deacon at Canterbury Cathedral, where the site of Becket’s shrine has been marked by a solitary candle. His fascination with what the shrine might actually have looked like led him into his research . Click here to read a short summary of the talk
